Girl Scouts ~ LR

Girl Scouts is an after school activity where you learn about kindness, bravery, money management, goal setting, business, and handling problems like if someone stole something. The Girl Scouts donate to the community, and do lots of other things for the community that you might not know.

The Girl Scouts are very active. They usually have meetings one Tuesday a month, and during that meeting they do things to earn patches. To earn patches the girls might sew or make blankets for kids in the hospital. They have a dance they do every year called the Daddy Daughter Dance. During the dance the Girl Scouts meet at Beverly after school and bring their dads or other close family or friends like an uncle. The girls also dress up and get to win prizes, eat candy, and dance with their dads.

My troop is going to a Girl Scout camp called Camp Hawthorn Hollow. Girl Scout camp is a great thing to do because you get to do a lot of things. My fellow Girl Scout Ella said, “I LOVE camp and I want to go every year.” All of the Girl Scouts are SO excited for all of the things we get to do like rock climbing, making our own food, hiking and many more activities. This year we get to

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest honor a junior Girl Scout can achieve. The award is given to the troop who leaves a lasting difference in their community, For example, a troop can make a little library and put it next to the school, or a troop can replant trees at Beverly Park. The requirements are easy. All you need is to be a Girl Scout junior and work together with your troop to help the community.
