Student Sports ~ ER, ABR, JS & FP

Can you believe three out of four American families with school aged children have them playing at least one organized sport? Soccer is one of the popular sports that children play. Another popular sport for school aged children is football. There are many teams in Birmingham if you are interested in playing a sport. It can be pretty expensive to start a new sport, so start saving up.

Some sports in the community that school aged kids can enjoy are; Birmingham lacrosse, United soccer, Shenanigans Farm Horseback Riding, and Birmingham Patriots Football. Mr.Silcox, a youth sports coach says, “Playing a sport can benefit you in multiple ways.”

The price to play a sport in the community is expensive for pretty much every sport. There are so many different types of gear that you need for different sports. Lacrosse gear can cost up to $74-100. That is pretty pricey. The average basketball gear is $100. Soccer gear usually ranges from somewhere between $60 to $100. Hockey equipment for a minor can cost $100. For a horseback riding lesson at Shenanigans Farm a flat lesson is for one person it is $50.00 and for a package of two is $95.00 and a package of four is $160.00. For a lacrosse session it costs about $400 dollars to be a part of the Birmingham Bulldogs team

We hope you have learned something in our article. Remember you can sign up for a sport using the links in the second paragraph or check your school office for flyers about the different sports in your own community. If you don't like the sports that we have listed you can try some of these like the bhc, or you can try upward basketball, or birmingham martial arts. Mr. Silcox suggests playing a team sport, because it gives you team building and communication skills.
